The Crystal Pavilion of Glass Lifecycle
This project aims to showcase the lifecycle of glass both spatially and chronologically. The exhibition has organized the route for guests and workers by excavating upwards and utilizing the open space enclosed within the existing building on the site. The exhibition begins with an extruded entrance that presents the history of various types of glass and connects to the glass workshop, allowing visitors to experience glass production. Two diamond-shaped glass structures have been subdivided into different sections and linked by a raised wooden pathway. As visitors traverse this wooden path, they will journey through the glass's origins (sand), its properties (color, additives, subtractives, transparency), and its end-of-life considerations. Glass panels are affixed to steel frames and suspended on the frame in a specific sequence to juxtapose and compare different types of glass.
